🔒 Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 22, 2026

Introduction

Abonglab ("we," "our," or "us") builds two iOS apps: Digsy, an apartment tour tracker for New York City and New Jersey renters, and Pigeon, a Citi Bike companion app for New York City riders. This Privacy Policy describes what information each app collects, why, and how you can control it.

Neither app uses a traditional password login. Digsy keeps everything on your own device by default; its optional Hunt Together sharing uses Sign in with Apple. Pigeon identifies your device with a random identifier rather than a login. By using either app, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

Digsy

What Digsy collects

By default, Digsy keeps everything you create on your own device, with no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The one exception is the optional Hunt Together feature: if you choose to share a hunt with a partner, the shared content is uploaded to our backend so both of you can see and edit it. A full, Digsy-specific policy is at abonglab.com/digsy/privacy.

  • Your tours. The buildings, units, rents, notes, checklist answers, photos, and walkthrough videos you add are stored locally using Apple's on-device database. By default they are never sent to Abonglab.
  • iCloud (optional). If you turn on iCloud sync, your tours are kept in step across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy, and Abonglab cannot read it.
  • Location. Used only while the app is in use, on your device, to suggest the building you're standing in front of and estimate commute times. It is never sent to Abonglab.
  • Camera, microphone, and photos. Used to record or import walkthrough videos and photos. This media stays on your device unless you share it in a shared hunt.
  • Hunt Together (optional sharing). If you sign in with Apple to share a hunt, we collect your email and a user identifier, and the tour content you share — building names, addresses, apartment locations, notes, checklist answers, listing links, rent details, and the photos and videos you add — is stored on our secure backend (Supabase, hosted on AWS) so hunt members can see and edit it. Your personal, non-shared hunts are never uploaded. This is used only to provide sharing; it is never sold or used for tracking.
  • Purchases. Digsy Pro subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Abonglab never sees or stores your payment information.
  • Maps. Digsy uses Apple Maps to search addresses, place pins, and estimate travel times, handled under Apple's own privacy policy.

How Digsy uses information

Information on your device is used only to run the app's features for you: tracking your tours, doing the rent math, showing your buildings on a map, and syncing across your own devices if you enable iCloud. Information from Hunt Together is used only to sync a shared hunt between you and the people you invite. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Retention and deletion

Your on-device data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed; deleting the app removes everything stored locally. iCloud data can be removed from your device's iCloud settings. If you used Hunt Together, you can delete your account and any shared hunts you own — including the content and media stored on our backend — anytime in the app under Settings → Hunt Together → Delete Account.

Pigeon

What Pigeon collects

  • Location. Requested only while the app is in use, to find nearby stations, record the path of your ride, and give you directions.
  • Health and fitness data. If you allow it, Pigeon reads existing cycling workouts from Apple Health and writes each completed ride back as a cycling workout.
  • Microphone and voice. Used only during the Talk feature. Voice audio is carried live through LiveKit, a third-party real-time communication service, for the length of an active session only. Pigeon does not record or store your voice.
  • Device identifier. Pigeon has no account or login. Each device generates a random identifier used to connect your rides, saved places, and preferences to your device.
  • Ride and usage data. Rides you record (route, distance, duration) and any places or trails you save or publish, kept so your ride history and diary stay available to you.
  • Push notifications. If enabled, Pigeon registers your device with Apple's push notification service to alert you when a dock near your destination is filling up.
  • Purchases. Handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Pigeon never sees or stores your payment card details.

Who Pigeon shares data with

  • Apple: purchases, push notifications, and Health data, governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
  • Fly.io: hosts Pigeon's backend server and database.
  • LiveKit: carries live voice audio during an active Talk session only. It does not receive your location or ride history.
  • Stadia Maps: receives route coordinates to calculate bike directions. It does not receive your device identifier.

We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Ride history and saved places remain on Pigeon's server for as long as you use the app. Contact us at the email below to request deletion, and we will remove your data within 30 days.

Your Choices

For both apps, you can turn off location, microphone, camera, Health access, or notifications at any time in your device's Settings. Deleting either app removes the data stored locally on your device. For Pigeon, deleting the app also removes your local identifier and cache; contact us to remove data still held on our server.

Children's Privacy

Neither app is directed at children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Security

Where we do handle data (Pigeon's server-side ride storage and purchase processing through Apple), we use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit. No security system is perfect; in the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
